On Her Command

Hello my hotties and heaux, and welcome to the blog tour for Sudden Sex!

If you'll refer to the above post, you'll notice that Sudden Sex has a fabulous line up of authors, some of whom have generously provided more than one titillating tale.

In appreciation of my fellow scribes, and as a "favour" to the lovely Alison (she had to twist my rubber arm doncha know? hehe), I've chosen three short, sexy and scandalous tales to review, all by the lovely Andrea Dale.

But I thought, in fairness to the rest of the tour, and to Alison who is - as always - juggling about sixty different things, I'm going to present them one at a time. Like the stories themselves, they're minute and to the point.

So, first up on the mound *giggle*, we have the scrum-diddly-umptous tale Come As You Are.

The first line of dialogue says it all. “We’re going to try something new.” And she certainly does.

If we’re lucky, we’ve all been in the submissive role where we’ve been told – don’t touch. Connor is often on the receiving end of those orders. But his Queen has another idea altogether. It doesn’t involve touching at all – at least not with hands.

Do you think you could come on command? Without touching yourself, or having another bring you to the relief you so desperately crave? That is Connor’s assignment.

It's fun and quick, and oh so perfect for those times when you just need a little....sumthin' sumthin'. Andrea is always amazing at delivering what we need when we need it.

And, as always, gives us ideas how to spice up our own boudoirs.

Better Late Than Never...

is what they usually say. At this point, I'm kind of at odds about the saying. Because I can't believe I forgot to celebrate with y'all when Alison accepted another one of my stories for her latest anthology Sudden Sex. So - yay! LOL. I guess I've just been out in space, as it were.

But sometimes, early is better. And in this case it is. Originally, we'd heard of the scheduled pub date being in May. But Amazon now has Sudden Sex in stock and on sale. And to top it off, when I say on sale, I mean ON SALE.

My lovely F/F story Cosmic Fate is included in this menagerie of 69 (I think that's her favourite number - wouldn't you agree?) short, sweet, sultry stories, which is currently going for the low, low price of $8.82! That's a $7 savings right there! AND, if you're more of an e-book kind of reader, it is available for pre-order on Kindle for $8.32, which is a savings of 47%!

It's a win - win. I mean, check out the Table of Contents, and these amazing writers. And the very pretty, very lovely perfect cover

It's All In The Lips

Hey hotties and heaux! I'm back. :D Miss me much?

Been having some issues with Blogger lately, not to mention spending most of January in planning mode for a very important 40th birthday party that I managed to pull off (with a little help from my friends).

But it's Valentines Day, and while I personally no longer subscribe to the practice of letting people know I care about them on ONE day of the year (not to mention the expenditures that cause your pocket book to laugh next time you look in there for coffee money), I respect others feelings on the day.

That being said, it never ceases to amaze me how often I have to repeat myself when giving advice to my male friends. When they ask about impressing women, I have to tell them, for the most part, quality women will not be swept off their feet by three digit restaurant tabs, because anyone can use a credit card. They will not be impressed by fancy cars for the same reason.

Women, at least the ones I know, will be able to tell a man of quality by four things: personal hygiene (always a MUST), a sense of humor, a good and generous heart, and a killer kiss.

That's right guys - as the title says - it's all in the lips.

Now, you can go tender and romantic and not too pushy for the first two dates I'll say. But after that, it's ok to show a little aggression, a little dominance. In other words, it's ok to be spontaneous and kiss that girls knees out from under her. If you do it right, she won't be able to walk for a week.

I've polled my lady friends as to the ten best Hollywood tv/movie kisses. Now, these aren't of all time, and a lot of them have happened on tv in the last year or so. It was hard to rate them in terms of one to ten, so I'm just going to post without numbers.

But man - they are HOT. And they are worth taking tips from. And remember, pay really close attention to how it's done. Because these guys get twenty takes to get it right.

You only get one.

First up for my Trubies out there - the lovely Sookie and the devestatingly HAWT Eric

This next one is totally cliche, but still so hot. It won for Best Kiss in 2005 and Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams proved it again on stage. From The Notebook (sorry to those who find it insufferable and annoying but seriously? HOT) **Also would like to add that these two hotties are CANADIAN - we have to know how to stay warm up here!)

Next up is everyone's favourite cop and writer team. On Castle, Nathan Fillion (ahem - Canadian) and Stana Katic have chemistry off the charts and when they finally make it happen - BOOM. Fireworks baby. Fireworks.

Ah yes - today's generation of vampires are smart, sexy and smouldering. But there's only one who gives bad boys a good reputation. Calling Damon Salvatore ....

Heads up guys. You don't have to have a six pack or the power to compel a woman to make that kiss count. Check out Nick's moves on Jess on The New Girl....

Ok so it's impossible for me to find an actual clip of this scene. But if you can find it PLEASE let me know and I'll post it as a replacement. In the mean time, this is an hommage to Annie and Auggie on Covert Affairs (the beautiful Piper Perabo and the ever-so-sexy-and-charming-and-holy-cow-have-you-seen-his-abs Christopher Gorham). The kiss is the last little bit and it's .... SIGH.

The lovely Sommer Marsden put her vote for this scene between Joshua Jackson (another fabulous sexy Canadian) and Leslie Bibb in 2000's The Skulls. And I'm SO glad she did....

Ok call me sappy (and most do) but I love The Lake House with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves (another one! Where do these sexy Canucks keep coming from??). This kiss says it all.

This one was brought to my attention from my girl Cathee. That Thing You Do - Guy and Fey at the very end (video quality sucks - my apologies). Very sweet.

And rounding out our little list -is from Syfy's Alice, starring Caterina Scorsone (she's our sixth sexy Canadian) and Andrew Lee Potts. Hummina hummina is all I can say.

I'm going to leave you with one more scene. Not a kiss per se, although they do that at the end. This is one of the sexiest scenes ever in American cinema. No list would be complete without a little Dirty Dancing.

Others to include (and weren't because no clips could be found) Moulin Rouge, and my favourite kiss scene from Across the Universe. And because I couldn't just pick one kiss from these shows, I need to mention Torchwood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Firefly.

There you go guys. Study up and go and make some girls knees weak. (Or guys if you prefer - concept is exactly the same).

And if you happen to be in the neighbourhood - my spine could use a little melting.
