One week down...

Today's offering was semi-inspired by the prompt over at Not Without Poetry . Yes I tend to write on a theme - what can I say? I'm a girl who thinks with my heart, not my head.

When I left you with my soul,
I thought you would hold it tenderly
Keeping it safe
Keeping it loved
Making sure it didn’t get torn.

When I gave you my love,
I thought you would need it
Cherish it
Return it with yours

When I set my heart
With yours
They felt so right together
Side by side

Finding the right hands
Wrapped around it
Holding it tight
In a forever embrace
Made me see yours were the wrong ones.
